Energy Potential offers bespoke support and advisory services to the UK Energy sector. We also offer a number of standardised risk management products. Our aim is to ensure our clients are aware of market and regulatory change that impacts on their business and have access to models that allows the impact to be assessed. Our Services Detail on the full services that we offer is available under Our Services and a summary is below: Support packages - Energy Potential offers a range of support packages designed to help industry players understand the regulatory and market environment within which they operate. Each package is tailored to match the requirements of a market participant (e.g. embedded generators, suppliers, IDNOs and large customers). For each package, Energy Potential updates the data and models provided every two months to ensure the client is always up to date with the latest position. We also incorporate two half day workshops each year to discuss how the market is changing and the impact it may have. Risk management tools - Energy Potential offer a range of risk management tools. Some of these are incorporated into the support packages above or can be procured separately. Theses packages have been developed after working closely with clients and identifying an unmet need for these products:
Advisory services - Energy Potential offer bespoke advisory services to clients. This includes due diligence studies, market risk and market regulation. Examples of work we have undertaken includes pre-feasibility assessments of storage projects, assisting suppliers with PPA negotiations, developing charging methodologies for IDNOs at extra high voltage, representation on the CUSC Panel and Ofgem taskforce looking at reforming network charges, developing pricing methodologies for unlicensed networks and resolving network charging disputes between a small generator and IDNO.
Our Background
Energy Potential was founded by Gary Huish and Andy Pace who have over 40 years experience in the Energy Sector. Gary has worked within risk management and analysis at Investment Banks and Utilities, including as Global Head of Commodity Risk for Morgan Stanley. Andy has worked in energy trading, supply, generation and distribution, and most recently was a Senior Consultant at a leading Energy Consultancy. Energy Potential also works with a team of experienced Associate consultants. Our strategy is to work with highly educated and experienced individuals who have worked at senior levels within the Energy sector. This allows Energy Potential to offer a high quality service across a broad range of areas. |
