Summary
Lee has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector of which over 15 years have been in senior and executive leadership roles. As a chartered Electrical Engineer his leadership experience has been built on a solid practical engineering foundation. Most recently Lee led the Energy Solutions business for Electricity North West. He formed the new Energy Solutions directorate incorporating the grid connections activity and the private networks contracting business on a mission to create a highly customer orientated business providing more holistic solutions to the needs of energy users and generators. As part of this Lee led the development of a portfolio of offerings to customers by fostering relationships with technology providers including solar via PPA, air source heat, low energy lighting, voltage optimisation, demand response. Lee transformed the delivery model for grid connections, making it easier for customers and improving customer satisfaction. He also improved regulatory performance and compliance through detailed review of regulatory assurance processes.
Prior to this Lee held a senior operations manager role, during which he was responsible for the mobilisation of significant capital investment programmes and improving business efficiency whilst also delivering significant operational performance improvements. In 2006, as Director of Connections Delivery for CE Electric (UK) Lee was responsible for the provision of new grid connections in Yorkshire and the North East of England. Leading a team of 400 people carrying out 70,000 electrical connections per annum his prime focus was on improving customer experience and developing business processes to ensure compliance with more rigorous regulatory regime. In 2003 Lee became General Manager for Integrated Utility Solutions and led a business providing engineering services to a number of distribution network operators. He grew the business, developed a capable workforce and improved safety performance.
Lee entered the industry in 1994 as an engineering management trainee with Yorkshire Electricity. Having progressed quickly into operational leadership roles Lee then worked as part of a team in collaboration with Cap Gemini to develop an asset management consultancy service to infrastructure based organisations and when launched, carried out and provided oversight and direction to teams on capability assessment projects in the UK, Europe and Canada.

Lee has operated extensively at a senior level and is able to create clarity when communicating complex topics or information. His experience spans the energy infrastructure landscape and he is strategically, operationally and commercially capable. He is an analytical thinker and enjoys working through challenges and delivering practical and innovative solutions.
He has experience of transforming business operating models and driving business performance improvements and delivers complex projects within challenging timeframes.
